Nice old building with good rooms but check in is across the road at another hotel. You are made to feel like you have checked into the poor relative of the posh hotel and left to get on with it Made a complaint about a group of about 15 young people who kept us awake all night and was told by staff 'It is the only 3 star hotel in Montreux and possibly Switzerland, What do you expect' very rude and unhelpful
Lovely views across the lake
It’s basically a youth hostel with noisy guests coming in at all hours of the night. Rude staff, no parking unless you want to pay £20 a night

The location for the Montreux Jazz Festival was perfect. The hotel is less than 100 meters away from the Auditorium and the Park where all the action happens. Villa Toscane is part of the bigger 5 star hotel right in front of it (cant remember the name) but you get access to all the facilities (restaurants, swimming pool, etc). Its comfortable enough and a good option if you plan just to sleep there and spend the majority of the day outside. It was 6 of us so we got both a junior suite and a double room. The suite was very large. The double room was very small.
The rooms are just ok. Villa Toscane has nothing other than the rooms (you have to cross the street to the other hotel to eat breakfast for example)

The bed is very comfortable. Services are ok. Its 10 mins walk to the train station, and they give you a travel card, and you can take bus and train in that area for free
The room is so small, and there is no internet in the room, and I hate that. Considering what rooms are like, they charge very expensive price.

The biggest surprise was that we were allowed to check in 3 hours prior to our reservation which was a grand treat. It was also nice being able to use the amenities at the 5 star sister hotel. The Villa Toscane itself wasn't very impressive, but it was the cheapest hotel in the area and that is what attracted us for our short getaway. I do think the only reason it has 4 stars is due to its sister hotel because really the Villa Toscane is a 2.5 to 3 star hotel at best. We enjoyed the free travel cards offered by the hotel and made great use of them exploring areas around Montreux. The room itself was spacious enough, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom clean though there was no bathtub. Basically if you are looking for a clean room to sleep in for the night and you are on somewhat of a budget, chose this hotel. If you are looking for something lovely and romantic book elsewhere or pay extra for one of the suites.
Our room was directly next to the parking with a window that lead to a view of the undercarriages of cars. The cleaning staff was also incredibly noisy in the morning, chatting loudly in the halls and playing loud music before 8am.

The staff were welcoming and suggested fantastic local restaurants. We loved the access to the Hotel du Grand Lac Excelsior facilities, making our stay even more enjoyable.

1. There is a resort tax which did not mention on website. 2. Also website said bussiness room has free internet, but the staff said it has to pay. 3. Inconvenient for check-in and out. 4. Not worth the money.

hotel was near the city centre and the lakeside (across the road)
(Single) room was small, on streetlevel so car noise was considerable. No view from the room. Amenities were adequate, but the price of the hotel was too high for what I got.

really good stay, as always. well decorated room and good-sized bathroom. excellent and beautiful location within easy walking distance of museum lv. and so close to the montreux jazz festival, which was practically right across the street, the water front and a bay sort of way.

We were given a nice big suite which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel reception desk staff were very helpful when we asked for directions and recommendations on things to do while we were in Montreux.
We had to go across the street to the hotel everytime we needed to ask something at the reception desk or to use the facilities of the hotel.

great stay but some small improvements needed
The location was fantastic allowing us to explore easily. The large family room had made-up sofa beds for the kids.
The bathroom could have used a bit more attention.

We didn't actually stay at Villa Toscane. We got an upgrade to their sister hotel, Royal Plaza Montreux (5-Star), which was right across the street, and we were very glad about that.
1) It said on the entrance door that you need to check-in and get the key from their sister hotel, Royal Plaza Montreux, which was right across the street, but almost all the guests, including us, did not see the notice. They should put the notice on the reception counter rather than the entrance. We were lucky because when we arrived, there was someone who were coming back from the hotel across with his key and he told us about the check-in method. The person said it took him 1 hour until he saw the notice! We were upgraded to their sister hotel, Royal Plaza Montreux and it was a 5-Star. But the 'continental breakfast' at this 5-Star hotel was far too simple. Some bread and juice, that's it, and that was 14CHF!
